Hoya Cuevas and source
of
the river Cuerpo de Hombre |

The frequently
snowy summits of the Sierra
of Béjar
or of Candelario
with their well-known silhouette rise over this
southern territory of Salamanca that makes up the
western sector of the peninsular Central Mountain
Range.
With bench marks higher than 2,400 m. this rocky
headland includes landscapes of great diversity,
enriched by the numerous river currents that rush
down from mountainous valleys of unusual glacier
topography.
Chestnut groves and pine groves share the environment
with nurtured boulevards, birches and all sort of
smaller sized varieties that produce a valuable
undergrowth where the wildcat, the marten, the genet
and the badger live.
Eagles fly over beautiful mountain villages of peculiar
features which convert them into some of the most
beautiful of all Salamanca.
Great beauty that will surprise the traveller who
chooses to enjoy the Nature
Area of Candelario. |
